A crown, also known as a cap, covers a tooth to restore it to its normal shape and size, thereby strengthening and improving its overall appearance.
A crown may be recommended to cover and support a tooth with a large filling. A crown can be used to attach a bridge, protect a weak tooth from breaking, or restore one that is already broken.
There are three main types of dental crowns. Each designed for different applications. Metal gold crowns are particularly suitable for posterior teeth exposed to heavy chewing forces.
Porcelain or ceramic crowns, offer excellent aesthetic results and closely match the appearance of natural teeth. They blend seamlessly in with your smile.
Finally, Porcelain fused to metal (PFM) crowns combine the strength of metal with the cosmetic appeal of porcelain. This type of crown is often recommended for load-bearing teeth that are visible when you smile.

Dr Dacy and the front office at Madison Street Dental do a professional job . Dr Dacy is a great dentist and I would trust her with any of my dental work including 2 crowns which she did for me this year. Their new offices are beautiful and have all the most advanced dental equipment.
Dentist and staff are amazing! I lost a crown and thought the tooth could not be salvaged and they got me in right away and were able to make a new crown with a metal post so I didn't have a missing tooth in my smile. Madison Street Dental is definitely my forever dentist-I am totally impressed with them!
The experience was great, I would give them a 5 star, but my insurance just denied my claim for the first crown 11-1-2022 , I just found out today .1-13-2023. Now i just had a second one done 1-10-2023 and most likely they will reject that one also, and i don't have all the money to pay for the crowns. Wish i knew that sooner.
Great office! The staff were super nice and did great work. Was very fortunate they were able to get me in for an emergency appointment when my crown came off. Thank you so much. I will be returning in the future.
I love the look of my new crowns and am learning how to chew with them. I still experience some sensitivity to cool and cold items, but expect this to lessen in the next couple of weeks.
